Lea’s childhood dog, Lucky, inspired her love for the veterinary care field. Poor Lucky was attacked by a retired police dog, struggled with several anal gland abscesses, snapped multiple ligaments in his hind leg, and developed a heart murmur as he got older. Despite these occurrences, he was the happiest and friendliest dog she’d ever known!
Even though Lea has always been drawn to animal care, she also loved acting! Because of this, she moved to England from Denmark to go to school for acting at the Guildford School of Acting and received her Master’s degree in Fine Arts. But after living through a global pandemic, moving to America, and getting married, she realized she wanted to work with animals, so she joined our practice in 2022! Lea hopes to go back to college in the near future to continue her education in animal care.
Lea’s favorite thing about being a Veterinary Assistant is giving our patients pets and snuggles during their exams. She loves helping the animals that come to see us feel relaxed, and enjoys the time they spend together during their appointments. Lea also enjoys the friendships she’s made with her coworkers and how well everyone works together.
When not at work, Lea enjoys cooking, doing yoga, and playing video games. At this time, she does not have any pets of her own, but her and her husband are hoping to get a dog when the time is right!
